II Impronta Granada Meeting Highlights: the Launch of the Urban Imprint Toolkit in Spain

The II Impronta Granada – University and Territory Meeting took place in Loja, where over 100 participants from diverse fields gathered to explore solutions for the future of the Granada region. The event, inaugurated by Pedro Mercado Pacheco, Rector of the University of Granada, was a significant opportunity to present the Urban Imprint Toolkit to a broad audience, including public officials, researchers, local associations, businesses, and citizens.

The Urban Imprint Toolkit, part of the Erasmus+ project, was showcased as a central element of the meeting. It serves as a practical guide to foster collaboration between universities, municipalities, and communities to address urban challenges through participatory governance, digital tools, and evidence-based planning. The toolkit presentation highlighted its role in supporting sustainable development, particularly in urban and regional contexts.

The event emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration and cross-sector dialogue. Participants discussed key regional challenges such as depopulation, heritage preservation, and economic development. Special sessions focused on areas like employment, entrepreneurship, and soil improvement, with interactive workshops providing a space for collaborative reflection and co-creation.

In addition to the presentation of the toolkit, the meeting featured the Impronta Granada Awards, which recognize academic works and articles with a territorial impact. The event also honored Pilar Aranda Ramírez for her significant contributions in strengthening the University’s ties with the province.

With its strong focus on innovation and collaboration, the II Impronta Granada Meeting has reinforced the role of the University of Granada as a key driver of sustainable, inclusive development in the region, highlighting the relevance of the Urban Imprint Toolkit in advancing these goals.
