URBAN IMPRINT
A project that aims to connect universities, municipalities and communities to promote social and educational transformation in Europe and beyond.
Urban Imprint aims to build a more sustainable, smart and resilient future for cities. To do so, we seek to connect universities with their environment, through municipalities, and establish a scientific-political dialogue that helps to address urban challenges, especially in the field of digital transformation and climate change.
We share best practices of collaboration between universities and municipalities at the international level.
We offer guidelines and recommendations to facilitate collaboration between both actors.
We promote the interconnection between universities and municipalities for the development of joint projects.
We implemented and evaluated various strategies to strengthen the relationship between universities and municipalities.
Universities, as centers of academic and research excellence, have a wealth of intellectual and technical resources that can be used to address a wide variety of urban challenges. Establishing strong and strategic links with universities is a crucial investment for cities seeking to remain at the forefront of progress and modernity.
Through these collaborations, municipalities can access not only the vast experience and expertise of academics, but also advanced technical resources and training programs. This synergy between municipalities and universities can result in applied research projects that address specific local problems, promoting innovative and sustainable solutions.
Close and continuous collaboration between universities and municipalities can play a crucial role in facilitating greater involvement of citizens in decision-making processes. This synergy not only enriches the quality of public decisions, but also strengthens citizens' sense of belonging and responsibility towards their environment, thus promoting a more active and committed participation in community affairs.
